Respect If You Expect Respect

Leadership the term itself triggers being on top and being alone. However, to get the deserved respect of the position, if you want others to follow you on their own, then you need to ensure that people in your team are treated with respect. The leader should build up his team to the highest levels of confidence. You should always remember that they have a mind of their own and they only lack direction. The leaders role would be to navigate the thoughts. Let your team come up with their own unique thoughts and you just allow them to exercise those thoughts with some help. This way they would own responsibility of the actions and also would respect you for taking notice of their strengths and abilities.
I believe the leader can always be respected if he takes care of the team’s interest, and devise a roadmap for their career growth. The leader should give visibility to its team. Leaders can only show results if he has a strong team. So to build a team he should allow them to take chances, makes mistakes and learn themselves. If they are making mistakes, then they are trying. If they are trying then they are learning and growing.
